The Most Iconic Album Cover.
Would have to be Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon surely?

Others i think are worthy contenders, although a long way off in 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th.

Sgt Peppers, The Beatles
London Calling, The Clash
Aladdin Sane, Bowie
Nevermind, Nirvana

White Pony

Really made my niece really mad by accidentally embarrassing her maybe boyfriend that she brought to some family thing.

Trying to be polite and making conversation, I asked him about the album - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death - Dead Kennedys- that was on his shirt. He hummed and haaed and I tried to help him out but apparently that made it worse. Too cool for the kids i guess.

Correct Winstone. Laughing Stock has the shapes on the tree forming the continents.

Also, Santana 1 looks like a lion but contains the shape of a woman, etc.

I feel I have to mention the Talk Talk album covers, all of them are pretty iconic in their own right and done by a chap called James Marsh, clever bugger.

I never understood wearing band t shirts if you’ve never even heard the band’s music. The amount of people you see wearing Ramones gear, makes me laugh. Wasn’t a fan personally.

Think that more Unknown Pleasures T shirts have been sold than albums.

Re: The Most Iconic Album Cover.
Unknown Pleasures would be one.

Then again, given it was 1977, when there were glarish prog-rock album covers, hard rock covers and some of the early punk covers, I actually think "The Second Annual Report" stands out for its simplicity.

In much the same way as The Smiths was a brilliant bandname for its time.

(And Twenty Jazz Funk Greats for parody/ hidden messages - then again Sleazy Pete's dayjob was album cover design and he did quite a few album covers of note)

Madonnas seminal 1995 album 'I am a fucking right bike' was seminal in fairness. It was covered in semen.

There was so much jism flung about on that album - Barrymore tried to import it into his swimming pool like it was haulage.

Barrymore actually asked Madonna to flick an egg cup full of jism up his eyes - the dirty wrongun

Re: The Most Iconic Album Cover.
Cant remember the name of the album - but one of my favourite jazz albums features a pair of tits smothered in silly string. Think it may have been Devilish Clements Brown's Quartet. Big set of knockers on the album cover.

The arrangements on that album - my god: I had my first wank to them knockers and to this day I still expect a set of chebs to be adorned in a fucking flume of silly string and bonkers party spray every time I hear Jazzle

Re: The Most Iconic Album Cover.
I would say that the Beatles probably could lay claim to producing three of the most universally recognised album covers whether or not they Iconic might be a different matter.

Abbey Road
Sgt Peppers
With the Beatles

Personally one of the most memorable album covers is Keith Moon "Two Sides of the Moon" very "cheeky"! But not a very good LP.

Good call for RATM Bungo and what an album it is too. Not many debuts that don't have a duff track.
